PRIESS & CO
– a family-run business spanning four generations

Set sail on a marvellous voyage with us

It may not necessarily take 125 years to become good at something. However, we firmly believe that four generations of dedication to exquisite taste make caviar from Priess & Co truly special.

THE YEAR IS 1900

At the harbour in the fishing town of Glyngøre, the scent of the Limfjord's waves mingles with the fresh catch from the fishing boats.

Amidst the cries of seagulls and seasoned fishermen stands 14-year-old Anders Priess, selling his first catch. It is certainly no child's play for a young lad like Anders to carve out a place for himself at the harbour, but he is determined to succeed. His mother, Johanne, has faith in the little lad, and with her help, he starts Priess & Co.

This is merely the first chapter of the captivating family tale of Priess & Co. A family story that Anders Priess likely never foresaw when he boldly took on the seasoned gentlemen at the harbour.

LONG FAMILY TRADITION

Fast forward over 100 years

It is now the fourth generation of the Priess family, cousins Henning and Morten Priess, who continue the tale of the fish-trading family. They have made it their mission to unite the traditional values and savoir faire that have always defined Priess & Co with the latest advancements in food technology and a modern, inovative approach to quality control and animal welfare.

There may not be a 14-year-old Anders standing at the harbour in Glyngøre today, but caviar from Priess & Co. is still Danish-produced with a constant focus on ensuring the best possible conditions for the fish and the environment. Naturally, because we believe that this goes hand in hand with the delicate taste and unparalleled quality that characterises our products.

forward-looking PERSPECTIVE

In the old days, the trout was fished at sea.

Nowadays with demand development and an increased focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing, our trout and caviar come from our own, meticulously managed fish farms – both at sea and on land.

There, we dedicate ourselves tirelessly to providing the optimal conditions for the growth and welfare of our trout.

Because we know that sustainably farmed, healthy fish, result in the highest quality trout caviar for our customers.

a new wind

Since the start of October 2024, the Danish Priess family and the French van der Wees family have joined forces.

The van der Wees family, now majority shareholder, has vowed to further strengthen the company, in order to continue to develop as a committed player for a sustainable and highly qualitative aquaculture. New blood, new wind but similar values, rooted in a shared passion and deep understanding of our products.
